This summer at The Chase Home, we will have 15 youth, ages 14-21, living at The Chase Home in our Residential (11-18) and Independent Living Programs (18-21). Our summer programming offers a wide range of life-enhancing opportunities, including community sports, educational field trips, adventure-based learning, cooking classes with guest chefs, and group recreational activities. We also organize professionally guided outdoor experiences such as hiking, camping, and beach trips, all designed to foster resilience, trust, and personal growth. 

Our goal for this summer is $20,000 and we are hoping to raise most of it through our New Hampshire Give’s Initiative! However, the impact is truly priceless. As we all know, nature can be profoundly healing—and for our youth, who have faced more than their fair share of adversity, this kind of adventure could be life-changing. 

We have already received a generous donation of $10,000 from LeMay Family Goodworks to fund Adventurelore Outdoor Summer Camp for ten Chase Home youth! We thank LeMay Family Goodworks for their continued support of our mission and investment in opportunities that help our youth build confidence, resilience, and connection.

Our interests for this year’s summer programming include…

Watersports for Chase Home Youth:

In the past, The Chase Home has paid for paddle board rentals and tours from local businesses, or we have had staff provide their own kayaks or paddle boards to reduce costs. However, youth have to take turns and can only go a few times each summer. Having our own paddleboards and kayaks and a trailer to tow them would alleviate that overall cost and allow for more youth to experience paddleboarding and kayaking consistently.

Portcity Makerspace Workshop Classes:

Youth have toured the Portcity Makerspace this past winter with hopes of pursuing classes. They are interested in the auto and bike shop, ceramics, woodworking, 3d printing and electronics.

The goal is to have youth pursue at least one class to help build skills, confidence and explore potential hobbies and even careers.

If youth continue to show consistent interest in classes, The Chase Home will move forward in purchasing a Portcity Makerspace Nonprofit Membership that will allow youth to attend classes at discounted rates and participate in open studio. We are located about a mile away from the Makerspace so youth could bike there, furthering independence and building lifelong passion with the potential to make a new passion into a career path.
